This mug was handmade on the pottery wheel using a rich brown clay and glazed with a glossy clear glaze on the inside, and a translucent white glaze on the outside.
I've used clay slip to freehand a series of jaunty modern flowers around the mug, which peek through the white glaze like a meadow in fog. The skull thumb rest is an unexpected detail that juxtaposes the lively blossoms with a hint of the macabre.
Dimensions are approximately 4.25 inches (Height) x 3.2 inches (Width at rim) holds about 12 oz.
